We have our last Slow Down Sunday ride day of the season on Sunday, Sept. 10 and our Beer, BBQ & Choo Choo ride day on Saturday, Sept. 30 will conclude our Brew ‘n’ Choo events for the 2017 season. Our family-friendly Track or Treat Halloween Express trains are on Saturdays, October 14, 21 and 28. Purchase tickets for these events from our calendar.
Slow Down Sunday rides are the perfect way to unplug, slow down and have fun on the Triangle’s Train. At 12 miles-per-hour, visitors ride through natural beauty over a trestle and through scenic woods. In our high-speed world, slow down with us. On Sunday, September 10, we have three departure times at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
During our Beer, BBQ & Choo Choo event, visitors can take advantage of the cooler weather and enjoy a relaxing train ride while eating catered barbecue and ice cream from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream. Guests 21 and older can enjoy craft beer from Bombshell Brewery. Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price.
The first train departs at 3 p.m. followed by three other departure times at 4:15, 5:30 and 7 p.m. Food, drinks and entertainment will begin around 3 p.m. and will last an hour after the last train ride returns to the station. A DJ will start the event with music, games, prizes and giveaways.
Our family-friendly Track or Treat Halloween Express trains are the last three Saturdays in October on the 14, 21 and 28. Children and adults are encouraged to come in costumes and ride a real train while seeing interactive Halloween scenes set up along the train track. Look for more information on this event as it gets closer. Rides can sell out. WRAL’s Go Ask Mom Blog included the event in a recent article.
