New Hope Valley Railway’s (NHVR) Slow Down Sunday rides are the perfect way to unplug, slow down and have fun on the Triangle’s Train.
At 12 miles-per-hour, you’ll ride through natural beauty over a trestle and through scenic woods. In our high-speed world, Slow Down Sunday encourages riders to transport back to a simpler, slower time with a leisurely train ride.
On June 11, we have three train departure times at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Tickets cost $10/adults, $9/seniors (ages 60+) and $7/children (ages 2-12, under 2 is free) and can be purchased here.
NHVR’s food vendor Chef’s House will serve: slow roasted black angus flank steak with a choice of 2 sides (Busch’s Oven Baked Beans, candied yams or slow roasted herbed red potatoes); hot dog combos with choice cookies and chips; or the NHVR Engineers Breakfast made up of cheesy scrambled eggs, applewood bacon, country sausage and hearty conductor’s choice potatoes.
